Trinity Collegiate School's graduation is on May 24.

• Where has Julian decided to go to the school in the fall?

Julian has been admitted to North Carolina A&T State University's (NCA&T) Honors College.  He will major in Accounting.  NCA&T is in Greensboro, NC - 2.5hr drive from home.

• Why did he choose NCA&T?

Early in high school Julian was interested in playing soccer in college. After doing several ID camps and enjoying pick up soccer in Florence he realized that college soccer was no longer a goal.  NCA&T does not have a soccer team but they do have intramural soccer.  Julian plans to participate in that and keep up his referee certification.  

Julian then narrowed it down to HBCUs along the east coast with accounting and agribusiness majors.  After attending an Open House, Virginia State University was his #1 pick.  That changed after he participated in NCA&T's PACE (Professional Accounting Career Exploration) Camp the summer after 10th grade.  He feel in love with both accounting and NCA&T.  He returned to PACE after 11th grade and added the Pre College Business Camp.  It remained #1 throughout the application and acceptance season.

• Where else did he apply and get accepted?

Other than NCA&T he did individual applications for Virginia State University, Xavier University of Louisiana, Morgan State University, Hampton University and Francis Marion University.  He also completed the Common Black College Application.  He was accepted to a total of 38 schools with over $650,000 in merit scholarships offered.

• What are his plans for the summer?

Julian and Jeniqua are headed on an Alaskan cruise for his senior gift.  Why Alaska? He wanted to go to east Asia but we also like to cruise.  Couldn't find a cruise to match our timeline but it remains on the to-do list.  Julian plans to get a summer job to squirrel away spending money for college so if you know someone hiring let him know.  He has Jack and Jill Teen Leadership Conference and may attend a few of Jeniqua's conferences but only if the location meets his standards!

• When does school start in August?

Admitted Students Day was April 5 and Julian will attend New Student Orientation on June 5-6.  He will likely move in early August for Honors College orientation and classes start August 20.

• Does Julian have a roommate already?

Yes!  His roommate is from the metro Atlanta area.  They met at one of A&T's Accounting Summer Camps.  They also attended the Honors Weekend at Hampton University and were roommates for the weekend.  They are both in the Honors College and majoring in Accounting.

• Does Julian need anything for his dorm room?

We are trying to travel lightly in our sedan for move in so if you want to gift Julian anything paper/e-money or gift cards are greatly appreciated. A couple of his organizations requested a wish list - the link is below.

• So what is Jeniqua going to do with all her time when he leaves?

Everything and nothing!  She will say no to things and do nothing because she can.  She will also follow her current personal ABCs
